Workgroups
The Department of Medical Statistics is structured primarily into four working groups, which cover different aspects of methodological research and applications in the area of medical statistics and a Core Facility for the biometrical and bioinformatical support with the planning and analysis of scientific studies and experiments:

- Working Group Biometry and Data Management in Clinical Trials
- Working Group Computational Statistics
- Core Facility "Medical Biometry and Statistical Bioinformatics"
The Department of Medical Statistics focuses further on different main research areas and provides special expertise and experience in this fields.

Research Projects
The Department of Medical Statistics takes part in a number of research projects and interdisciplinary consortium projects, which are third-party funded. The Department covers methodical research as well as clinical research in various areas, e.g. neurology, cardiology and oncology.
